It is time, preachers to preach less about prosperity. It is time, preachers to preach much more about love.
God’s wake-Up Call is a Gracious Call, a Demanding Call, and thirdly, it is a Rewarding Call.
In Joel 2:12-17, the Lord says: “Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “Return to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, weeping and mourning; and rend your heart and not your garments.”
Now return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil.
Who knows whether He will not turn and relent and leave a blessing behind Him, even a grain offering and a drink offering for the LORD your God? Blow a trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, proclaim a solemn assembly, gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and the nursing infants. Let the bridegroom come out of his room and the bride out of her bridal chamber.
Let the priests, the LORD’S ministers, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, “Spare Your people, O LORD, and do not make Your inheritance a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they among the peoples say, ‘Where is their God?’”
Are you aware that the world has major problems? All nations are divided morally, spiritually, intellectually, and politically. Jesus Himself said in Luke 11:17, “Any kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and a house divided against itself falls.” Our churches as a whole have been asleep for years! It is time to wake up!
The Old Testament prophet, Joel, preached to God’s people in Judah just before the Babylonian armies came and destroyed Jerusalem and took God’s people into exile. He cried out for them to repent so that God could spare the land from the coming invasion. His words of warning are very pertinent for us today.
I personally believe that if the world does not repent, we are going to see bigger disaster.
None of us expected the world to experience COVID19.
None of us expected to see what we’re seeing/watching in a great nation America.
God desires to send spiritual awakening. He is sounding an alarm. He is crying out to His people in the world, saying, “It is time to get out of bed!” Let us think and analyze God’s Wake-up Call. Notice that it is a Gracious Call, a Demanding Call, and, thank God, it is a Rewarding Call.
