Our Story

About Armours of Glory Ministries (AGLOM)

Armours of Glory Ministries is a story of faith, hope, and transformation. Founder Pastor Charles Luutu shares his personal journey and the story behind the ministry.

I was born on 31st December 1973 in Kitto Village, Luwero District, Central Uganda. My parents were still young and in school when I was born. My childhood was filled with many challenges. My mother was a kind-hearted woman, but she was uncertain about who my father was because two men claimed to be my father. Each gave me a different name until a DNA test confirmed my biological father. When I was only six months old, my mother left me with my grandmother. Whenever I was taken to my father’s home, I faced rejection and serious mistreatment from my stepmothers.

Although neither of the men who claimed me was willing to support my education, God used good Samaritans who helped me study up to O-Level. I later joined driving school and became a professional driver. Growing up in a Muslim family and attending a Muslim school, I encountered many experiences that shaped my life. At the age of 18, I gave my life to Jesus Christ, and my life was completely changed.

After my driving school, I got a job as a driver at Ridar Hotel Mukono. It was there that I met three visitors from America: Louie Madura, Doug Collins, and Steve Grandmeire. After hearing my life story and my dreams for the future, they decided to support me through Bible College. After completing my studies, I began serving not only as a pastor but also as a member of the community, caring for orphans, vulnerable children, and people in need. Because of the suffering I experienced while growing up, the Lord called me into ministry in 2006. In 2013, I officially registered Armours of Glory Ministries as a Christian-based organization in Uganda under registration number 80020001536446, together with four directors: Nakintu Norah, Pastor Mutala Daniel, Sselunjoji Henry, and Pastor Kyaligamba Mary.

The ministry began by visiting prisons and supporting prisoners with basic needs through the help of friends from Church of God World Mission. We also started caring for vulnerable children, including Kansiime Daisy, a total orphan who was at risk of early marriage. Through God’s provision and the support of Mr. Mark Douglas Collins, Daisy was able to continue her education and later graduated from university on 17th January 2020. Today, Armours of Glory Ministries cares for 59 children and 10 adults. Having experienced hardship myself, my heart is dedicated to children and vulnerable people who need love, care, and support. I invite everyone to join us in this noble mission of transforming lives and restoring hope.

AGLOM Objectives

To empower communities through capacity building of families and to support orphans, vulnerable children and bring hope to them through addressing their basic needs including food, shelter, bedding medical care education and other necessities to empower and realize the young generation.
Ensure that the beneficiaries develop Life Skills that will enable them to become self-reliant, responsible and productive members of society.
